Cousland Village Hall Association
Cousland Village Hall Association is a community organisation which arranges community events and maintains and runs our local Village Hall for the benefit of everyone living in and around the village.
In the year 2000, the Association celebrated its 25th anniversary. We have a regular programme of events throughout the year - Village Clean-up Day, Gala Day, Bonfire Night, Christmas celebrations and Hogmanay at the Hall being the biggest.

Cousland Village Hall
The Village Hall was built in 1930, being originally Cousland Miner's Institute, at a time of expansion of miner's welfare organisations throughout the Scottish coalfields. Although originally intended as a billiards and reading room for the miners, the Hall was always open to all local people, a tradition we continue.
The Village Hall has recently been extended to provide better facilities for the local community.
Our Committee (currently ten villagers) is elected each February at our Annual General Meeting and meets on a monthly basis to plan and organise our events. We also work with Midlothian Council to ensure that the voice of the community is heard on a range of issues that effect us.
